Bardot Proviant Klub

Temporary seal restaurant for Greenland exhibition

Saturday January 16th the Bardot Proviant Klub, an exhibition about the changing environment and traditions in Greenland curated by Anya van Lit (photographer) and Joost Bottema (author), was opened at Mediamatic. Striking element in the exhibition is the Proviant-Klub-Room, a dining room where members of the Proviant Klub can eat seal meat.

Inspried by "Kaffee-Mik", the dining ritual of the Inuit where everyone eats together, DUS designed a room with a colossal table measuring 20 m2. The walls of the room are shaped by one continuous sofa, made out of recycled pressed styrofoam blocks, which allows for all members to share the same table.

The exhibition and Klub will be open for public until February 28th. More information go to www.mediamatic.net
